If you’re using an Android phone

1. Check USB Mode

• Connect the cable
• Swipe down → Tap the USB notification (e.g., “Charging this device”)
  
• Select:
• File Transfer (MTP) or
• Transferring files

👉 If this option doesn’t appear:

• Go to Settings → Connected devices → USB preferences
• Choose File Transfer
  

2. Enable Developer Options (if needed)

Sometimes permissions are hidden.

• Go to Settings → About phone
• Tap Build Number 7 times
• Go back → Developer Options
  
• Enable:
• USB debugging
  

Then reconnect → you should see a permission popup.

3. Revoke USB Permissions (reset)

• Go to Settings → Apps → Special app access
• Look for USB settings / Default USB configuration
• Reset or clear defaults
• Reconnect device
  

4. Try basic fixes

• Use a different USB cable (very common issue)
• Try a different USB port
• Unlock your phone before connecting
  

If you’re using an iPhone

The “Trust This Computer” popup should appear automatically.

1. Reset trust settings

• Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset
• Tap Reset Location & Privacy

Reconnect → the trust popup should appear again.

2. Check screen state

• Make sure the iPhone is unlocked

3. Update drivers (Windows)

• If using Windows:
• Install/update iTunes
• This installs required drivers
