MetaShot GO is the portable smart bat for the free MetaShot game. It tracks your swing with motion sensors over Bluetooth and lets you bat against the in-game bowler on phone, tablet, laptop or TV.

You swing a real handle and play on screen, so timing and placement matter more than buttons. The first few balls are about feeling that link between hands and screen.

What is in the box

Lay out three things before you plug in. It keeps first charge and pairing calm.

Step 1: Charge before first play

First charge sets the battery for steady play. Do it while you install the app.

2. Charge about 1 hour before first play. Why one hour: the battery ships partly charged for safety, and an hour covers setup, pairing and your first session.
3. Full recharge is about 2 hours for 4 hours or more of play. Charge in the evening so it is ready next day.

Step 2: Download the MetaShot game and log in

1. Download the free MetaShot game from Google Play, App Store or metashot.in/pages/app-download. Use the official store for your device so updates come automatically.
2. Open the app and log in or create your account. Keep login handy for multiplayer and rewards later.
3. Keep Bluetooth on, but do not pair from phone Settings. Why in-app only: the game handles the handshake and links the bat to the match session. Manual pairing in Settings can block the app from finding GO and shows connected without green in the game.

Step 3: Power on and connect

1. Long press the MetaShot logo to turn on. Hold until you see blue for pairing mode.
2. Open the app and select a mode. Practice is best first. The app finds GO automatically over Bluetooth.
3. Wait for green. Green means connected and ready to bat.
4. At the crease, tap to take guard. Why tap not hold: a short tap calibrates stance for that ball. A long press powers off and shows connection lost.

If pairing fails, reset in this order:

• Remove any manual GO entry in phone Bluetooth Settings.
• Close the app, turn the bat off with a long press, then on again to blue.
• Reopen the app, select a mode and wait for green before tapping to guard.

Step 4: Choose your settings

• Batting style: left or right. This flips stance and shot map to match your real hand. Set your true style to keep muscle memory honest.
• Graphics quality: choose smooth over highest look. Smoother frames make the marker and release easier to read.
• Commentary: Hindi, English or mix. This changes audio only. Pick what your room enjoys on TV.

Start in practice mode for a few overs before multiplayer. You get clean reads without score pressure.

Step 5: Play safely and time it right

• Wear the lanyard looped around your wrist every ball. It keeps the bat secure on follow through.
• Keep about two metres clear in the swing direction. Move lamps, keep breakables out of the arc, and keep people and pets behind you. Supervise younger players.
• Calibrate stance before every ball. Tap power to take guard, set feet and pause a beat so sensors lock your position.

Your first ball, step by step:

1. Take guard. Tap the logo, set normal grip, eyes level. You are telling GO where your crease is.
2. Watch the bowler hand, not the pitch. Release tells you when to start. As the arm comes over, load hands slightly.
3. Read the ball marker. It shows line and length early. Middle and off invite straight bat, wide invites cover or cut.
4. Swing before the ball lands. GO matches bat path to delivery in flight, so a late swing after bounce often misses. Time it as the bowler lets go.
5. Feel the buzz. Haptic feedback on contact confirms you met it. No buzz means you were early, late or out of line.

If you keep missing, check two things: are you tapping to guard each ball, and are you swinging early enough. Those two fixes solve most first-session mistimes.

Your first 15 minutes: a simple session plan

1. Minutes 0 to 5: practice overs, straight bat only. Face 12 to 18 balls. Play defence and straight drives. Focus on tap to guard and early swing.
2. Minutes 5 to 10: add two scoring shots. Add cover drive on wide markers and pull on short markers. Note which marker you read well.
3. Minutes 10 to 15: play a short match. Pick a low pressure mode or one over challenge. Keep the same guard and early swing cue and note timing not score.

After 15 minutes pause and check grip, space and graphics smoothness. Adjust once then play another 10 minutes.

Step 6: Power off after play

Long press the power button to switch off. The light goes off and the app shows disconnected.
